


What is a Sound Bath?
A sound bath is a calming meditative experience intended to help you find peace and quiet in an often noisy and busy world.
Sound baths, or Sound Journeys as I often call them, are deeply immersive, meditative experiences where you are “bathed” in vibrations from sound waves produced by instruments like crystal singing bowls, gongs, chimes, and tuning forks. You’re not getting wet—don’t worry, you don’t need a bathing suit. Usually, you will lie down comfortably with eyes closed while the vibrations (or sounds) wash over you. The idea is to let the mind and body fully relax, allowing stress, tension, and mental clutter to melt away.
How Sound Baths Support A Wellness Journey
Sound baths can work on a few different levels. Physically, the vibrations can help slow down your heart rate, reduce blood pressure, and relax the nervous system. Mentally and emotionally, the sound frequencies help bring your brain into states associated with rest, repair, and deep meditation—think alpha (8-12Hz, awake but relaxed), theta (4-8Hz, daydreaming), and delta (0-4Hz, most relaxed, asleep) brainwaves.
